Stephen Jones (that would be me) is a historian and occasional writer. I am unapologetically progressive in my politics, a lifelong environmentalist and human rights activist (gasp! the “A” word).
Not to dredge up the past, but just for background, I was born and raised in Wisconsin, and, like the 44th President, was a former citizen of the southside of Chicago. From these humble beginnings I carry with me my Wisconsin progressivism and my loyalty to the Chicago White Sox.
These days I am a proud resident of the south fork of the Jornado del Muerto at Las Cruces, New Mexico, county of Dona Ana, which, believe it or not, has since the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (a/k/a – Tratado de Guadalupe Hidalgo) of 1848, been a part of the United States.
…really! You can look it up.
